Tourist WARNING: Venice to separate travellers and locals amid anti-tourism anger

Venice welcomes over 30 million tourists a year, which has been met with anger from locals.

Protests across the region in recent years have plagued the city over fears that locals are being pushed out of housing and prices.

With the May bank holiday expecting to see even more visiters the mayor has announced a new change to the city to handle the influx.

Walking paths for locals are to be separated from tourists at major tourist attractions such as St Mark’s Square and Rialto Bridge.
